How To Supervise Your Children’s Activities On The Internet

In this day and age it is important that children as well as adults learn how to use a computer. Children have to use the computers for researching for school and talking with their friends. You may trust your children - but parents should still learn how to supervise their children.

What To Do:

- Designate one computer to be used by the kids on a regular basis.

- Purchase a program, such as WebWatcherData, which can be installed on the computer to monitor the places the kids visit on the internet and to find out who is targeting them. This program in particular allows you to configure it so that you can monitor the keystrokes and even take pictures of the screens or text that have inappropriate content. There are many programs that you can choose. Just spend the time doing the research and select what you think works for you.

- Let the kids know that the program is installed on the computer. Explain that you will try not to violate their privacy but that you will look at the report from time to time to make sure they are safe.

- From time to time do look at the report. According to you findings adjust the computer security as needed.
